What is Exercise Physiology?
Exercise Physiologists are allied health professionals who specialise in exercise interventions for people with chronic disease, musculoskeletal injuries, neurological conditions, and other long-term health concerns. Unlike general fitness programs, exercise physiology is evidence-based and clinically guided, with a strong focus on functional outcomes and sustainable improvements in health.
Who we work with at ADAPT Nundah
Our exercise physiology service is ideal for people with:
Chronic disease (e.g. diabetes, heart disease, arthritis, COPD)
Workplace injuries (through WorkCover QLD)
Mental health conditions
Neurological conditions (e.g. Parkinson’s, MS, stroke recovery)
NDIS participants
Veterans (DVA)
Post-surgical rehab and injury recovery
Those with a Chronic Disease Management Plan (EPC) from their GP
We also support individuals who may not be injured or unwell, but simply want structured, professional guidance to improve strength, function, and long-term well-being

What to expect
All new clients begin with a comprehensive initial consultation to assess current function, medical history, and movement patterns. From there, we develop a personalised exercise prescription that aligns with your goals, condition, and capabilities.
Your program may include:
Mobility and strength-based exercises
Cardiovascular conditioning
Functional movement retraining
Pain management strategies
Education around self-management and lifestyle change
Programs are delivered either one-on-one or in a small group setting, depending on your referral and needs.
Funding & Referrals
ADAPT Nundah accepts referrals and funding from:
Medicare (EPC Plans) – up to 5 subsidised sessions per calendar year
WorkCover Queensland – for approved workplace injury claims
DVA – for eligible Gold and White Card holders
NDIS – for self-managed and plan-managed participants
Some level of cover or rebate is generally available through these pathways. Gap payments may apply depending on the specific service and referral type.
If you’re unsure of your eligibility, we can help guide you through the process and liaise with your GP, case manager, or NDIS coordinator where needed.
